Be less judgmental

”It all starts with you.” No one in this world is pure and perfect, not even Nature. If you avoid people for their shortcomings, you will most certainly be alone in this world. So try to judge less, and love more. Surround yourself with people who understand. People who lift you up. We rise by lifting others.  People who aren’t quick to judge – those gems, exactly my cup of tea. You can vent to them, and labeling you will be the last thing on their mind. They do not believe rumors because they know there are two sides to every story. They give you a chance before they judge you. They get to know who you really are, then form an opinion. However, people are usually rather judgmental, towards themselves, others and situations, without even thinking about it. If you know that you’re a pretty judgemental person, try to challenge yourself to change your mindset. Little by little, watch how being less judgmental will create a more positive outcome; within both your inner and outer world. You will …

Pure intentions

”Choose authenticity and your life will begin to change.” Like a loyal friend you return, each and every year, dear autumn, dear fall. However, every time you bring something new, something unique. Oaks dressed in crimson, leaves in brightest red. And I’ve learned to trust that there’s nothing more to dread, about things once said.  You stir me, make me question every thought, every action. The way you always manage to keep it fresh and wild, darling fall child. You steady me, make me feel at peace, at home. Yet, eventually you’ll leave, making room for the cold, whilst the whitest snow turning into gold. Blissful laughters in the wind; You’re still alive. Act like it. Everything falling into place, even though everything seems to be falling to pieces, leaves melting to the ground, capitulating in the arms of winter. We endure the fire, the wind and the waves. Travelling within seasons, eventually finding our way. With every dawn we have the opportunity to change our todays, as well as our tomorrows. We start by …

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

”Darling I know, some things take insane bravery. But after that you’ll be free.”   Fear is always about the next moment, not about what is happening right now. Fear is something yet to be, or something that does not exist. The fear is simply existing because you’re not living with life, you’re living with your mind.  I’ve been thinking a lot about fear lately, and why it’s so common that we humans are so afraid of the unknown, afraid of taking risks and going after our dreams (at least I know I struggle with feelings like these more often than not, and I bet I’m not the only one). But the more I think about it, by letting fear take over we let our imagination run wild (in a negative sense). We focus on questions such as – what if I fail? And what if it works out, what then? These are questions that keep us stuck in our comfort zones, questions that prevent us from even trying. A question I like to ask …

Don’t rush life

”Why are we in such a hurry to get through our lives?   I believe we can learn a lot from nature. While dancing through seasons, she does not rush. Taking her time- to unwind, to unfold, to let go and to transform. Allowing herself to bloom. Month after month. Year after year. Going through phases fully present, fully alive. Fully confident in her transparency and vulnerability. Wise enough to know, that letting go doesn’t necessarily mean being deprived of, but creating space, creating opportunity. She has her end-goals and dreams, however, at the same time she acknowledges the process and the in-betweens. The tranquility of being. Being winter when she’s winter, summer when she’s summer.   Why are we rushing? And to where are we rushing? Are we rushing to get a degree, to get a job, to find a partner, to buy a house, to have kids, to then all of a sudden realise is this it? Is this what life is all about? Wasn’t all this supposed to make me feel happy, fulfilled, and …

Authenticity

”Thou may be kind, but that doesn’t make thou naive. Thou may be vulnerable, but that doesn’t make thou weak.”   Authentic: Not false or copied; genuine; real. Representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified.  Authenticity. What does it mean? What does it mean to you? Who are you, when you’re your most authentic self? And why is it, that at times, it makes one feel weak when showing one’s true nature? It makes one feel exposed. Vulnerable. You peeled off all of your layers, you ripped off all of your clothes, standing bare naked, hand in hand with your soul.  I believe in being genuine. To myself and to the people around me. However, that doesn’t mean that I’ve always succeeded in showing my true self. Far from it. Nonetheless, I can honestly say that there has been a tremendous growth within me when it comes to being honest. And I kinda like that. It makes me feel powerful. Far from weak. Some people might call me naive. On …

Define what success & happiness mean to you

”We rise by lifting others.”   When nothing is certain, anything is possible. My personal opinion when it comes to success is that I believe successful people are those who are living their passion, following their dreams and pursuing their goals in life – even though, at times, the path might be uncertain. Even though the path is dark, their inner light will always guide them.  It’s rather easy, and common, to talk about what we want in life; we write about it, and dream about it. We might even visualize how we achieve our dreams and our goals. But for many of us, it all stops there. What traits do successful humans have, that the persons who is stuck in their dreams, and keep on being stuck in their dreams, do not have? Below you’ll find ten traits that I strongly believe will have a great impact whether one becomes successful or not. Nevertheless, success looks different for everyone. Therefore it’s of utmost importance that you define what success and happiness mean to you. …

By your side, dear intuition

”I may not be brave, but my eyes speak the truth.” random thoughts of the day. i’m a free spirit. within me is a strong need for freedom. a strong need for serenity and calm sea. i want to feel alive. i want to feel that i am the one in control of my life, the one in control of my decisions. i want to be me, and i want you to be you. i do not easily fall in love, however, if i meet a person with whom i connect i usually feel it at once. this happens whether it’s a friendship, a colleague, or someone i would fall into a love relationship with. it hits me at once. the feeling is there, and i can’t hide from it. when i fall for another human being i feel it throughout my entire body. my emotions speak vividly. they speak through my heart. through the butterflies going freakin wild in my belly. nevertheless, a pure physical connection has never been enough for me, i need …

Embrace your being

”Be aware;make a move, take a stand, take a chance. Embrace and work with what is.”   Every moment, peacefully passing by. What happens now, in this moment, guides us into the next. Pay attention to your surroundings, as well as your inner state, as it nourishes greater awareness, clarity and acceptance of what is. Don’t miss out on life, don’t miss what is of greatest value. Growth and transformation happen the moment you realize the richness and the depth of your potentialities. As every moment peacefully evolves, so are you.  How to become more mindful? How to become more acceptant of what is? Acceptant of one’s Self? There are several methods helping us to cultivate a more intimate relationship with the present moment, ways for us to achieve serenity, and peace of mind. Below you’ll find some of my favourite ways of tapping into the present, into my being. Tranquility speaks ”Listen to the whispers of your soul.” 4.30 am. I forgot how peaceful it is to wake up at dawn. Complete darkness surrounding …

End of the year intentions

”Everything you need, seek and long for is already within.” I feel it’s a beginning of a new cycle of life. Not only because August is knocking on our doors, but I can feel fresh faced optimism floating in the air. Do you sense it as well? I’m a firm believer in writing my intentions, goals and dreams down, preferably on a piece of paper. I guess I am more of a dreamer/planner than a doer. However, my intentions for 2019 was all about taking action and believing in myself and my abilities. Now, looking back on these past 7 months, I sense a stronger confidence has slowly started to grow within me, as well as a strong feeling of being connected to something greater than my physical being. When it comes to intentions, you can choose to write daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly intentions. I prefer to write my intentions in the beginning of every month, as well as set one daily intention that helps guiding me throughout the day. Setting intentions not only …

Inner happiness

”Use the hours with softness.” Don’t try to change the past, it’s impossible. The only way to change the future is by making the most of the present. Being a control freak by nature I’ve decided to work on being more patient with myself, in order to find a sense of calmness within; personal features that I strongly believe are highly beneficial to the body, mind & soul.  But how is it even possible to stay patient and calm in a world that’s constantly changing? To stay satisfied with what is, when the mind is obsessed with living in the past or worrying about the future? It’s like it does anything just to escape the now. ”I don’t want to be here, I need to get to there.” ”When I find that perfect partner, that perfect job, earn loads of money and become successful, then I’ll be happy.” ”I’m not satisfied with where I am, I need to have more, be more; then my life will be fulfilled.” The ego will never be fulfilled; no matter …
