Flow with it

”When in doubt, practise yoga.” Almost every morning, after I’ve had my morning coffee, I practise yoga. It’s by far one of the morning routines that I appreciate the most. Letting my body quietly awaken while I stretch out my muscles; Absolutely lovely. Yoga has helped me tremendously in so many ways; not only to find stillness, but to learn to listen to my body and its needs. Yoga can be anything from a tough, sweaty workout to more calm, mindful movements. Find your favourite. Find your kind of flow. I’m far from being a yogi, but I don’t care; I really enjoy it, and that’s the most important part. You need to be enjoying the things you’re doing. Or in other words; you need to be loving the things you’re doing. It becomes so much easier then – to work out, and to take care of the body. Your body is your home, and therefore it needs to be taken care of ❤ A gentle flow. Namaste

A good human

Let’s talk about self-development. ”We are magic, aren’t we? – Humans Life is not about reaching the destination, it’s about enjoying the journey. Life is not about waiting for opportunities to come to you; it’s about creating opportunities. I read somewhere that we people don’t decide our futures; we decide our habits and our habits decide our futures.  Cultivating self-development, self-growth, should be on top of your to-do-list, or in other words it should be a daily habit of yours to always strive to be the best version of yourself. You see, life is your call. Every area of life is your call. Life isn’t happening to you; life is responding to you. You’re the creator – you decide what your life will be. You decide how the next chapter will begin, and how the story will unfold. ”Wild. My darling, be wild. Don’t let them tame you.” Surround yourself with people that encourage intellectual, emotional, artistic or spiritual growth. People that encourage you to be the best version of you. Learn to become the …

Power of Thoughts

”Dear sunrise, you bring me peace of mind.” Thoughts are a huge part of who we are. The human mind is a beautiful, yet complicated and sophisticated machine, and it’s estimated that an average person has between 40.000 to 60.000 thoughts per day (National Science Foundation). What is more, 80 % of these thoughts are negative, and 95 % are repetitive.  Nevertheless, one important aspect to bear in mind is; you’re not your thoughts, you’re simply having thoughts. Most of the thoughts that are running through the mind we aren’t even totally conscious of. These so called subliminal messages go un-noticed since they aren’t perceived by the conscious mind. However, whether we notice these thoughts or not they will affect us to some extent. Pay attention to your thoughts According to the facts above it might seem that all we do is complain, whine or have thoughts that diminish our own or other people’s self worth, and mostly without even being aware of it! According to Eckhart Tolle one of the ego’s favourite strategies to strengthen …

Friday Feeling – Patience

”No one is an overnight success story. Put in the work.”   Sometimes what we want doesn’t happen when or how we want it to. But that doesn’t mean the answer is ”no” it just mean ”not right now”, or ”I have a better plan for you, sincerely the Universe”. I believe the main difference between successful and unsuccessful people is not the way they vary in their competencies, but the way they vary in their ambition, and desires to reach their potential. Persistence is key, since good things usually take time. Below you’ll find a few important mindsets to carry with you during times when giving up is the only thing on your to-do-list; Practise gratitude. It’s extremely easy to get caught up in other peoples’ success stories. However, spending time dwelling on the things you haven’t achieved yet, or comparing yourself with others won’t take you anywhere. Focus on you. Be thankful of the things you have accomplished so far. Write down all of your achievements – big and small, and start being …

Find comfort in the chaos

”With a brave heart anything is possible.”   Dear summer heat, you finally arrived. Too good to be true, but oh so adored. It feels like I’m in the southern part of Europe, but I’m in Turku, Finland. It’s almost 30 degrees here, and today has been absolutely lovely. I’ve been enjoying the gorgeous weather, and been trying to study for an entrance exam which I have tomorrow. Maybe not the smartest thing to do to study the day before an important exam. I should do nothing but relax, since my ”extra-mother” let me borrow her huge apartment, and I’m rather exhausted after a lot of work (and life). Tonight is an ice-cream, yoga kind of evening. But first – coffee & a run. I haven’t been writing in a while, I guess I needed a short break, as well as 100 % focus on the entrance exam. I’m so looking forward to tomorrow when it’s over, the past weeks have been hectic; trying to study while working full-time. The other day I went through some …

Dear May…

… you took me by storm. I’m forever lost in your impulsive grace. ”Fight for the fairy tale. It does exist.”   May is for waking up too early. The morning sun dazzling through the broken window. Burning with passion, awakening tired souls. The birds are singing, the red roses blooming. It’s a new day. A bright future. May is for magical, heart-warming evenings. The nature, and humans, reborn.  May is a month when everything is thriving; the cherry trees, the flowers, the hearts. Let her sensuality caress you. Embrace you. You know, she’s blossoming just for you. This May is all about letting the alluring spirit shine through. Exploring the unknown, and taking chances. Believing in the magic of life. The beauty of humanity. Early morning runs and yoga. Awaken the body. Awaken your creativity. It’s about taking the time to learn about oneself. Every day becoming more and more self-aware. It’s about poetry and expressing emotions. Reading and gaining knowledge. The nature, so breathtaking and flourishing, just like you. It’s about leaving things …

Spring cleaning your home

”Embrace the now with awareness, and make room for new, uplifting intentions. Notice the birds singing, the trees blooming. The future is created in the present. ”   Spring cleaning your home, aka your mind & body, is an excellent way of getting rid of limiting beliefs and self-doubt, as well as negative thoughts that might hold you back from reaching your true potential. Below you’ll find my top tips for cleaning your home this spring.  Before you can start your spring cleaning you’ll have to become aware of what’s holding you back. Are you always comparing yourself to others? Not thinking you’re worthy of all the abundance that life has to offer? Do you have problems forgiving yourself for past behaviours? Do you have problems forgiving someone else? Or do you simply feed your mind with negative self-talk morning to evening? Take your time to figure out what it is that you struggle with the most; the things you need to get rid of in order to blossom like an early spring day. This …

The beauty of aging

”Every day is a privilege to learn more about yourself, life and all its mysteries.”   Just like the Moon we go through phases, and just like the seasons we change. And like the midnight sky we shine like a million of stars, just like we cry like heavy clouds on a rainy Sunday evening. Life is beautiful in all its stages. Every morning we receive the gift of a new day. We get to grow one day older, and that my dear, is a gift greater than life itself.  Stop being afraid of getting older, show your deepest appreciation instead. The beauty of evolving, and getting wiser is a privilege. Every day we have a chance to learn more about ourselves, we have the opportunity to grow and learn from our experiences. We have the possibility to fall in love with our imperfections, our strengths and all our quirks. I believe that with age comes knowledge, not only the one found in books, but from life. You might find yourself in a situation where …

Use the hours with softness

”Work when there is work to do. Rest when you are tired. One thing done in peace will most likely be better than ten things done in panic… I am not a hero if I deny rest; I am only tired.” – Susan McHenry   As soon as I feel out of sync with my mind and body I start feeling tired, unmotivated and stressed. Nowadays I notice it rather quickly, and I’ve learned exactly what to do in order to feel more grounded and peaceful. Whenever I need to be refreshed or renewed I spend time alone, in stillness, use the hours with softness and show appreciation to the present moment. There is no place more powerful than the present moment. However, most of us use this moment to think about the past or worry about the future. Very seldom we actually embrace all the wonderful things happening right now. Are you spending time with a loved one? Show gratitude. Are you lying on the couch, chilling at night? Show gratitude. Are you smelling the …

Dear spring…

… you’re my sunshine. My darling friend, you’re beautiful from day one. ”The morning sun dazzling through the broken window. Caressing my soft heart, my recovered soul. Oh, how I adore the warmth she brings.   Life changes with the seasons. Even the coldest, darkest winter happens for a reason. However, it won’t last forever. Spring is coming. Wait, she’s already here, shining brightly on all of us. Let her embrace you. Don’t try to understand her, just love her. And let her shine.  Through seasons she’s changing, Mother Nature. Like you, through your experiences, your being. Every second you have the possibility to move forward, to evolve. Embrace your colors. Only you decide where you’re going. Only you decide when it’s your season to change. Know, that from all of the chaos a flower will start to blossom. Spring is the season when I feel most alive. I blame the sunlight, the long days and short nights. The nature – pure, fresh and green. Spring might as well be cold and rainy, but it’s …
