The power is within me

”May you have the courage to go places that scare you.” For many years now I’ve been writing almost daily in my journal. Usually I write down affirmations or set daily intentions. However, lately I’ve become aware of my tendency to simply put words on a piece of paper without any deeper thought behind them. I find myself writing sentences without taking the time to reflect what they mean to me. This I want to change. Instead of aimlessly writing things down I will choose maximum one to two affiramtions or intentions, and really challenge myself to contemplate on what they represent to me. Let’s take today’s intention as an example. ”Don’t take life too seriously.” What does this sentence mean to me? And how can I use this intention to improve my day-to-day life? For me this means not to be too caught up in my mind. Not over-analyzing things that are out of my control. To simply be okay with the present moment just as it is. To see obstacles and road bumps …

What’s your reason for being?

”Wherever you are, be there.”   Who are you? I’m not asking for your name, or where you were born. I’m not asking about your profession, or your field of study. I’m not asking about what has happened to you in the past. And I’m not asking about your family, or who you’re dating. I’m asking about you.  Who are you? Finding oneself being lost in life, lost in translation, happens to all of us at some point in our life. If you’re feeling lost, then it’s exactly where you need to be right now. Be thankful to life, for always having your back. Be thankful for the path you’ve travelled; the way it has moulded you, and strengthened your sense of Self. Be thankful for where you are at this moment. With every breath; die with the past, surrender to the future, and awaken to the sound of your present heartbeat. The beauty of life lies in the simplest of things. You don’t have to feel obligated to write a list filled with material goals …

Everything in its time

”Allow your life to unfold naturally.”   Random thoughts of the day. There’s a time for being ahead. A time for being at peace. There’s a time for being in motion. A time for being at rest. There’s a time for being vigorous. A time for being exhausted. To everything there’s a season. There’s a time for every purpose under the sun.  The words above got stuck with me as I listened to them the other day.   No storm can last forever. Not even nature can create a storm that lasts forever. Hidden within every struggle is victory. Within every failure lies an opportunity. Hidden within yourself is everything you’ll ever need; power, love, compassion, joy, success and abundance. Every battle, and every difficulty molds you into a stronger human. As long as you know that you’re on the right path you’ll eventually end up where you want to go. There is and there was nothing like you, and there shall be nothing like you. Therefore, never seek to compare yourself with others. Nonetheless, let …

Present Moment Experience

”In most cases, the universe does not allow us to move forward until we have honored where we are right know.” The leaves dancing in the breath of wind, as the bird performing its final poem. Until next year, dear humming creature, until next year. The warm breeze caressing my fragile skin. Breathing it all in, while autumn laughing in the warm-hearted wind. I’ll carry your lyrics, wherever I go. Sing to me, little creature, sing to me.  This is the door to all that is. Celebrate the moment, and awake to the magic unfolding.  The present moment – the only moment there is for us to be alive. Humans are very good at preparing to live, but not very good a living. Habitually dwelling in the past and dreaming of the future, while having difficulties concentrating the mind on the present moment. Wherever you are – know that you are home. Wherever you find yourself; whether you’re stuck in a rut, anxious, or simply lost in the fast spinning outside world – whatever the …

Happiness comes from setting goals?

”The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.”   A couple of days ago I read an interesting article in the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat – ”Onni tulee tavoitteista.” (Roughly translated; Happiness comes from goals.) The article is an interview with 40 year old Satu Pihlaja, a Finnish psychotherapist. At the moment she is working on a dissertation, while studying two other degrees and operating a privat clinic as a psychotherapist. In her spare time she practices yoga, sings in a rock band and spends time with her friends. (How many hours does she have during a day?!) Setting and accomplishing goals is, however, possible for every single one of us. It can be regarded as a characteristic that can be taught.  Satu Pihlaja does not regard herself as a ”doer”. During her teenage years she started to ask herself why she didn’t have any goals. She realized how dissatisfying it was to start studying the night before an exam. It was when she applied for the university that she understood that she won’t …

Killing time

”…and he knew she was much more than a sentence. she was the entire storyline. the unwritten ending.”   Looking for a way to kill time? Write. ”Write hard and clear about what hurts.” – Ernest Hemingway Or just write whatever comes to your mind. Do whatever floats your boat; spend your precious time wisely. Focus on what makes you happy. Focus on being brave. Recognize the little voice in your head that says you can’t do it. Get rid of self-doubt. Dear human, you can do anything. Have faith in yourself. Be confident. You might feel scared. Alone. That’s totally fine. You’re human. But remember, you’re never alone with a sky full of stars. Fall deeply, madly in love with yourself. With your life. And the world will fall deeply, madly in love with you. Some things you better not ever forget.  ❤     in every one of his dreams she exists and with the sun she disappears     she laughs and he knows the world needs more of her     …

Paint Your Words

”Meet me at midnight underneath the stars. I’ll bring my books and you’ll bring your heart.”     she loves too deep in a shallow world     the midnight sky turned her into a wildly creative masterpiece just as her smile turned him into a dangerously naive human     her smile may be sweet her gaze may be innocent her acts may be the kindest the world ever experienced she may be the face you can’t forget but that soul that soul is nothing but pure lust deep within lies a dark, deep intense desire how dare you neglect  a flaming fire     come closer. pay attention, and you’ll notice the tears in her eyes are actual stars.     some call it love others call it pain he calls it her     time stands still in moments your heart dies     from all of the chaos a flower started to blossom     dreaming of her is his great escape     with her he is his most powerful …

Dear June…

…you’re my favourite month. ”You’ll turn out ordinary if you’re not careful.” June is for waking up early. For staying up late. The Midnight Sun screaming for attention. June is for restless nights. June is for magic. Young and green. June is for miracles. For feeling alive. June is for picnics and counting stars. June is for beauty in its purest form. June is a wild child, a summer child. Growing into the adolescence of autumn. June is for believing everything is possible.  June is a month when I feel most alive. I blame the sunlight, the long days and short nights. I sleep a lot during winter, but could stay up whole June. The nature – pure, fresh and clean. June might as well be cold and rainy, but it’s still June. It’s still magic. My deepest desire is to spend every waking moment underneath the Sun. Close to the Sea. Close to the Heart. ”To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong”   This June is all about balance, practicing …
