How to improve your self-worth

”Know your worth. Don’t ask for it – state it.” In the end, it all comes down to self-worth. If you don’t believe that you’re worthy of neither success, love, abundance, compassion nor enjoying beautiful experiences it will be very difficult for you to attract any of these things into your life. ”Because of the continuous negative programing that we face in society, we focus on the bad and unpleasant things and project this negativity onto ourselves so often without even realizing it……… There is never a day that you are not worthy. Self-worth is not determined by anything; you don’t have to do anything to be worth it. You just are. (Mutiwasekwa, 2019) To start with – Never, ever apologise for being your most authentic self. When I was younger (and sometimes even today) certain kind of people often describe me as being sensitive. Like being sensitive would be something bad. Now I usually laugh if I get a comment like that. ”Yes, I’m a sensitive human being. And I embrace it, I embrace …

How to find your confidence

”Stay true to yourself.” When I talk about confidence, I don’t mean this fake kind of confidence that usually stems from seeking validation either through social media or some other extrinsic source. Rather, I see it as something that symbolizes a feeling of a deeply rooted trust within oneself, regardless of outside circumstances. Intrinsic confidence, that is what I’m talking about. This constant need of having to seek approval, in order to feel good about oneself is a never ending circus. It’s very common for us humans to seek other people’s blessings before we feel we are ready to do something. We might be doubting ourselves and our capabilities, and therefore seek to be validated by others. For more on this topic read my blog post Don’t wait for permission. Confidence is closely related to self-love. The more you approve of yourself, despite your flaws and imperfections, the more confident you’ll become. Confidence is not about being perfect – it’s not about having it all figured out, or needing to have answers to everything all …

Art for sale

”Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” – Pablo Picasso I would not call myself an artist. I would say that I’m more of a self-taught intuitive painter. What is a self-taught intuitive painter you might ask? I do not have an art degree; as a matter of fact I was not even good at arts while in school (according to my teacher). This being said, I do love colors – I appreciate messing around with paint, releasing emotions and feelings while being caught up in the process of creating. For me art is a form of self-expression. I believe that within each and every one of us lies an artist of some sort, waiting to be released. Humans were born to create, and the beauty within that is that there are limitless possibilities for us to embrace our craft. We just need to be still, and open to receiving guidance from the universe. Sometimes that guidance comes in the form of a quiet voice, whispering; ”You …

10 habits to change your life

‘Consistency is more important than perfection.’ Below you’ll find a list of small habits that will make your days more enjoyable, productive and mindful. Keep in mind that it takes approximately 21 days to form a new habit, therefore be consistent. Performing habits like these might not seem like a big deal, but it’s usually the smallest of habits and routines that, at the end of the day, will have an huge impact on our everyday life. ”The future is created in the present moment. Don’t resist the seasons changing, instead, learn to flow with the breath of life.” Wake up one hour earlier. If you’re not already waking up super early try to set your alarm one hour earlier than usual. Dedicate this extra time to yourself; really take the time to enjoy your coffee, read a chapter in your favorite book, practice yoga, or go outside for a morning walk. Getting ready for the day ahead in a calm and relaxed manner is a crucial step towards a more productive day. At least …

Dear Friday…

… love me in such a way that makes me feel, free. ”We can never run out of love; it’s in the air we’re breathing.” Each and every one of us walking on this planet are worthy of a beautiful life. A life filled with joy, excitement, happiness and love. A life filled with abundance. Having said that, each and every one of us are responsible for our own happiness, to some extent.  However, for some of us it will definitely be a lot more challenging; it’s like the universe demands more from some people than others. Yet, I believe the universe won’t give you anything which you can’t handle. If you’re constantly going through difficult situations; please, take a step back, and pause for a while. What is this trying to teach me? How will this make me grow? In the end, it’s all about our mindset, and how we choose to look at the things happening for us. And yet I agree, at times it can be very difficult to try to find the …

Embrace humility

”The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” – Socrates Part of being humble means realizing that you don’t have all the answers. Humble people are curious and eager to learn more, in order to become better versions of themselves. Furthermore, they’re self-reliant and competent in themselves, and therefore seek to self-actualize by helping others. I read somewhere that being humble is not to think less of oneself, but to think of oneself less. Consequently, humility is not about being too passive and insecure, rather it’s about being confident in one’s own skin, knowing we’re all different, yet at the same time, somehow quite the same. ”Be humble enough to know that you’re not better than anyone else, but wise enough to know you’re different.” Below you’ll find some of the most common traits that might help you become a little more humble ❤ Be curious. Humble people usually have an inquiring mind, meaning they know there’s always something to learn, there’s always new insight and knowledge to gain. Learning is an ongoing …

Choose your thoughts wisely

”October dear, I breathe you in like air.” Thoughts are a huge part of who we are. The human mind is a beautiful, yet complicated and sophisticated machine, and it’s estimated that an average person has between 40.000 to 60.000 thoughts per day (National Science Foundation). What is more, 80 % of these thoughts are negative, and 95 % are repetitive.  Nevertheless, one important aspect to bare in mind is that you’re not your thoughts, you’re simply having thoughts. Furthermore, you aren’t even conscious of most of the thoughts running through your mind. These so called subliminal messages go un-noticed since they aren’t perceived by the conscious mind. However, whether we notice these thoughts or not they will affect us to some extent. Pay attention to your thoughts According to the facts above it might seem that all we do is complain, whine or have thoughts that diminish our own or other people’s self worth, and mostly without even being aware of it. According to Eckhart Tolle one of the ego’s favourite strategies to strengthen itself is through complaining. ”Every …

How to be more gentle with yourself

”Relax. My darling, unwind. Be patient and stay alert. You’re coming home. To yourself.” No one in this world is pure and perfect, not even Nature. If you avoid people for their shortcomings, you will most certainly be alone in this world. And if you’re constantly doubting yourself, and never take the time to actually embrace your accomplishments, you’re most certainly chasing a perfection that doesn’t even exist. Therefore, try to judge less, and love more. Surround yourself with people who understand. People who lift you up. We rise by lifting others. With this being said, below you’ll find some tips & tricks on how to recharge your soul. Your entire being. How to feel all sparkly, and good about yourself again, when you feel unmotivated and ready to crawl back to bed. Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, even you. ”Temporarily closed for spiritual maintenance.” I appreciate the calmness. I appreciate my books. I love spending time alone, getting to know myself on a deeper level. I love to soak …

The utmost freedom

”When humans stop running away from themselves, the world will become a kinder, more peaceful place.” At times freedom has little to do with the outside world, and circumstances. Man becomes free the moment he becomes free of thought. When he does not longer obsess over the constant chatter in his mind, but instead turns towards the heart. Freedom from compulsive thinking, desire, addiction, outside validation, constant approval. How does one become free of all that? I think one needs to stop. One needs to allow himself to slow down, to listen. When one is constantly bombarding himself with stimuli from outside sources it becomes nearly impossible to hear, or see anything. How is one able to listen to the whispers of the soul if one is continually caught up in the outside circus? How is it possible to become aware of the song of the heart when the sirens of the external environment is set on full volume? One does not typically feel comfortable sitting alone with one’s thoughts. To realise just how dysfunctional …
