As you plan for the year ahead and navigate daily life, there is one important thing to bare in mind – the power of the intentional pause.
What do I mean with an intentional pause?
It’s about taking a breather, that crucial pause when you reconnect with your body, and ask yourself; Is this in alignment with who I am? Is what I’m doing and feeling/thinking right now taking me closer to who I want to become?
The more aware you are of yourself and your inner state, the easier it will be to make the right decisions. You see, when you are fully connected with your body, mind and spirit it won’t be as easy to fall astray.
I am here now, in this moment. There is nowhere else I need to be.
The intentional pause is about reassessing and readjusting if necessary, or simply about confirming; Yes I am right where I need to be right now. All is well. It’s not about judging yourself if or when you have fallen off track, rather, it’s about being aware, with emphasis on the being.
Need inspiration? Just look at nature during winter. It’s like she has decided to take a long intentional pause, being in her calm, quiet and serene era. She just allows herself to be. And underneath her thick white fluffy snow, all her flowers and plants are slowly coming back to life, as nothing is never stagnant, everything is constantly changing, moving forward, recharging, slowly developing, just as the seeds preparing themselves for that first warm sunlight in spring. Not every progress is noticeable to the eye. In fact, many breakthroughs and improvements are happening internally, underneath that beautiful thick white snow.
Allow yourself to embrace January with an effortless ease. Plan your year ahead, but be intentional about it. There’s no need to rush your life, if truth be told; slow down, go within, and you will notice all those tiny seeds waiting to sprout in spring.
