Dear December…

… let yourself become still. The last two years I’ve been posting a letter on my blog in the beginning of each and every month. Dear January, Dear April, Dear October… This quickly became my (and my readers) favorite way of writing. I allowed myself to become still, and to let the words flow to me, not forcing, simply creating space. To be able to quiet the mind, and to listen to what lies underneath is, however, my main purpose while seeking stillness. When the mind is turbulent it’s difficult to hear or see anything, however, when the mind is calm, everything becomes clear blue sky. I believe this is how creativity enters, and transforms into either words, art, inventions or wisdom. And now to one of my favorites. Dear April… … I swear, you got my feelings playing butterflies. ”April darling, nature must be head over heels for you, the way she blossoms when you arrive.” Animals and humans awaken from the darkest of night. From the deep, deep slumber we all return to …

Dear November…

… let’s get lost, shall we? ”Get lost, on the path less traveled, and return, a little bit more well-lived.” Embrace the thought – Never fully completed – and your existence might become a little less intimidating. More light-hearted, less heavy. You do not have to have all the answers. All the lovers. All the glimmery, shiny things. As long as you have an intense yearning to listen, understand, and respond accordingly. As long as you carry within a deep desire to experience all that’s making you grow, bold and flow. Compassionate. Get lost, on the path less traveled, and return, a little bit more well-lived.With bruises and scars, but a heart so filled. Smell the roses, taste your tears, unlock your laugh. Whenever your voice can’t carry you – in an honest manner – speak, however soft, and weak. It’s a spinning wheel, or a tranquil deal. Your choice. Off-track, on-track,in-between, love and laughter, fear and disaster. It is you life, be that as it may, always say thank you, for this new day. You do …

What is love?

”Love is what love does.” Let’s begin with what love is not. Love is not ownership. Love is not the need to control. Love is not jealousy. Fear of loss. Fear of life. Love is not ”you’re mine”. ”Take my hand, inhale my breath, we wont die, as long as we don’t fall in love.” – l.m.v Love is courage. Love is acceptance. Love is patience. Love is work. Give and receive. Freedom. Non-judgment. Love is. Comfort. to sit in silence, with you, means more thana thousand of wordswith someone else. At the moment I’m reading the book ”The Road Less Traveled – A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth” written by M. Scott Peck. I believe it came out in the 70’s, however, with its timeless message about the very nature of loving relationships it helps the reader how to distinguish dependency from love, how to become a more sensitive parent; and ultimately how to become one’s own true self. I highly recommend the book, if you haven’t already read it. love me …

Dear August…

… you make me feel at home. At home in this restless soul of mine. ”Darling, if you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” The leaves shine bright in warm golden light. Utterly mesmerized, while watching summer falling artlessly in love with the early breaths of fall, whispering final words of goodbyes. Be aware darling human, be aware, you’re shifting, like the softest, brittlest wind. Stay open, be alert, now, the perfect time for a rebirth. While I’ve always kept summer close to my heart, still and all I believe my soul breathes for fall. August is for faith. Love and compassion. Knowing one’s worth, and the ability to shine light in another person’s life. Taking care of the body, as well as the soul. Exploring new cities and friendships. It’s for constantly learning, constantly evolving. Small steps in the right direction. Appreciating every victory, every mistake. Blissful mornings. Dark, quiet evenings. Golden opportunities from dusk till dawn. The bright sunlight caressing thirsty hearts. Thirsty souls. The ability to inspire other …

Dear July…

… hug me, I want to feel your heart beat. ”Sometimes I’m weak, scared and vulnerable, nevertheless, more often I’m strong, confident and alive. At peace.” July is for chasing dreams. Catching stars. Peaceful, dark summer nights. July is for late evening swims, enjoying the calmness of the sea. The calmness of the heart. July is for creativity, an imagination deeper than ever. The dark, dark sky filled with stars. Filled with hope. July is for believing in the power of nature. The power of humanity. Humid days and foggy nights. July is for beautiful souls searching for inner peace. Inner light. Loving kindness, curiosity and bravery. Be brave, darling dear. Be brave. Everything you wish for, believe, and it will come to you. Flowers will grow. Don’t you know you were created to create? Create magic, create yourself. If it’s meant to be it will flow to you, effortlessly and gently. Give yourself permission to relax and enjoy the magic of being. Breathe in the now, exhale the past. Stay wild, darling moon child, stay wild. …

Dear June…

… my soul talks about nothing but you. ”If it’s out of your hands, it deserves freedom from your mind too.” June dear, nature must be head over heels for you, the way she blossoms when you arrive. I look at you, and wonder, out of all the months in the world, I’m happy to have found one so perfect for me.  June is for hot, loving summer nights. Magical, never-ending evenings. The sun wide awake, but please, don’t go back to sleep, you’re one to keep. June is for finding the happy within. Smelling roses and counting stars. Eating strawberries and breathing in vitamin sea. June is for dancing with the waves, playing with nature – kissing the soft, morning rain. You’re impeccable, just the way you are.  This June is all about not forcing things. What flows, flows. What crashes, crashes. There’s only space for the things that are meant for us. Beautiful words, beautiful beings. Life is happening now, while appreciating where we are in our journeys, even if it’s not where we want to be. …

How to change your mindset

”Respond to every call that excites your spirit.” – Rumi A fresh start isn’t a new place, it’s a new mindset. Research shows that our thoughts are 95% repetitive and 85% negative. In other words; we’re constantly repeating negative thoughts. It’s rather convenient to start living life on autopilot, especially when life gets busy, and distractions of all kinds are drawing our attention. In most cases we’re not even aware of the thoughts we’re having, and how they might affect us.  To begin with; there might be many different reasons why we humans feel the need to change, however, I read somewhere that there are two main reasons that usually stand out; Either our minds have been opened to something new, whether it’s a new way of thinking through facing new experiences, or meeting someone with a completely different mindset from our own. The second reason is when facing a traumatic event or experience; maybe we got our hearts broken, lost a dear friend or family member, or fell ill to a disease – something …

Dear May…

… you come bearing opportunities. ”…give me a winter to wake up, and deserve you.” As I find myself moving with the universe, a sense of peace floating through my veins. The sun, caressing my heart, the moon, my entire being.  Dear nature, dear moment, you feed me hope. You feed me laughter. And when I finally opened my eyes, I noticed, how you so effortlessly transformed into a beautiful work of art.  This May, all about honest expressions. Living with integrity, boldness and compassion. The words you speak become the house you live in. Now is the time to trust. Trust yourself. Trust your voice. Love you.  Stay open to how the sky, at night, changing its colors, hour by hour. May is for magical, heart-warming evenings. Nature, and humans, reborn. Wherever life plants you, flourish with grace. Explore the unseen, take chances. Be brave. It’s time to press play. Believe in the magic of being. Human being. Love you.  It’s about seeking answers. Gaining wisdom. Isn’t that why being a child is so …

Surrender

”When you think you’ve surrendered, surrender even more.” I take a step back and let the universe show me the way. I trust that the guidance I need will come to me. Or as Eckhart Tolle so neatly puts it: ”Sometimes surrender means giving up from trying to understand, and becoming comfortable with not knowing.” Life is about finding the balance between what we can control, and what we cannot. Sometimes surrendering is the breakthrough we need. During my morning yoga the teacher I was following said something that had me remember something deeply important. I was in this slightly uncomforable frog positon (uncomfortable at least to me). The teacher said that whenever we’re in a position that feels difficult and challenging it’s very common to hold our breaths and try to combat the struggle, and therefore resist the growth that comes along. The thing we instead should strive towards in that moment is to take even deeper breaths, and allow our bodies to let go. Whether you’re in an uncomfortable yoga position or going through …

The courage to trust yourself

”Darling, there’s sunshine and stardust pouring out of your veins.” A key ingredient in this beautiful, yet unpredictable life is trusting oneself. As soon as you begin to trust yourself you’ll learn how to dance through life, cultivating courage, self-worth and compassion. Wherever you go, begin to plant all these wonderful things that you are. When you start to put complete trust in yourself you’ll automatically become more confident in your own skin. Go within, listen to your inner guidance. The answers are there. Trust yourself. What determines your worth? Think about it for a minute. Is it your looks? The amount of friends you have? Your income? Your job title? Where you were born? Your skin colour? Or do you depend on other people in order to make you feel valuable? Question your belief systems. Why do you have them, and where do they steam from? Be clear and completely honest with yourself when answering these questions. Writing your thoughts down might make it easier to understand yourself as you read your words out loud. …
