Find stillness within the chaos

”In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” – Deepak Chopra In this moment you can find suffering or meaning, fear or curiosity. You can choose to see the world through the eyes of hate, or you can let love be the guiding force. Clarity might not always be found through the intellect, but experienced in stillness. Quiet down, and the more you’re able to hear. Some might fear the stillness, simply because they’re not used to it. What to do with it? Complete silence, except the sound of the heartbeat. Rising. Thoughts popping up. Do something, don’t just sit there. Wasting your time. Becoming aware of the breath. In. Out. In. Out. Feeling calmer. Lighter. Sensing the energy in the hands. Alive. I’m alive. The present moment – the only moment where there is freedom from the past, from the conditioned mind. You’re simply here, realising there is nowhere else to be. But here. ”To a mind that is still, a whole universe surrenders.” Lao Tzu To become aware is …

99 things for health

”Appreciate where you are in your journey, even if it’s not where you want to be. Every season serves a purpose.” Health is not about looking a certain way. Health is about feeling alive, having a positive attitude towards life and being confident in your own skin, as well as being both mentally & physically strong. Health is our greatest wealth. The importance of sleep. Aim for 7-8 hours sleep/night (and put away the phone one hour before bedtime). Stay active throughout the day. While it’s important to exercise regularly it’s as important to be active in your everyday life. Take the stairs. Always take the stairs. If you haven’t broken your foot or can’t use your legs, then of course take the elevator. Educate yourself. Strive to learn something new every day. Prioritise the greens, the veggies, the colourful stuff (and I did not mean candy when I wrote that). Smile to strangers. They might think you’re crazy, but hey – then smile even bigger. Drink plenty of water. Water is life. Water is fundamental to the …

Intention setting

”Live truthfully” What does it mean to set an intention for the day? Setting an intention not only helps you stay motivated and aligned with your true self, but will also make you more focused and commited to your goals. Furthermore, it sets a tone for the day ahead, and helps you get back on track in case you find yourself struggling to proceed with a task or take action in a certain matter. You can set a specific intention that will change with each day, as well as have one or several more general intentions that follow you throughout the days, weeks and months. One of my more general intentions is to live truthfully. And what do I mean with that? To live truthfully. In essence, I try to stay away from things, actions, behaviours, people, that do not align with who I am. Give an example, please? I try to speak as authentically as possible, towards others as well as towards myself. With this being said, I’m far from perfect, and I’m not …

Embracing boredom

”Without boredom, no creativity.” Going through seasons of boredom and restlessness can be a beautiful reminder that we should allow ourselves to simply be, bored. Ask yourself – Why am I seeking stimulation all the time? Acknowledge this moment, exactly as it is. Make yourself comfortable, and allow yourself to sit with the boredom. Watch it. Invite it in. Maybe it has something to tell you? Allow the boredom to enter, and from there slowly move forward. We progress from acceptance, not from resentment. You simply allow things to be as they are, and when you’re ready, you take action. ”Allow yourself to be bored, and see what happens.” We need to be ok with sitting with boredom; that is how creativity is born. The feeling of boredom is usually all about mindset. First you change your thinking, and by changing your thinking you slowly but surely change your doing. And after a while you’ll notice how your doing turns into being. Being means it’s automatic, second nature; it’s a part of who you are. …

Dare to explore

”There’s no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this.” To seek out adventure doesn’t always equal travelling abroad to a far away country, jumping out of a plane or swimming with sharks. What if you could make every day a little bit more adventurous just by challenging your mindset, and changing up some of those mundane routines of your? Below you’ll find a few mindsets/habits that hopefully can assist you in making your every day life a bit more exciting and joyful. Especially suitable in times like these when travel restrictions are common, or the bank account is preventing us from enjoying extravagant ventures. Explore your neighbourhood. Usually it’s the places we are the most exposed to that we take for granted or fail to actually appreciate. Have you, in the past few days, taken the time to literally stop and look around? Next time you take a walk in your neighbourhood – leave your phone at home and gaze at the buildings, the surroundings, the people walking by (without scaring …

How to get through difficult change

”As long as you’re breathing it’s never too late to change your story.” Change is inevitable, growth is optional. Whether or not it’s good change, bad change – change we create ourselves or change that we don’t have control over – both natural and spontaneous changes will happen throughout life. The aim is to not resist change, since that only creates sadness and struggle, rather, to learn to flow with the current.  Letting things flow naturally is, however, easier said than done. It requires a great deal of patience and an eagerness to reclaim the power that might have been lost along the way. Last but not least, you should always remember not to be too hard on yourself. You’re only human after all. ”It’s not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” – Charles Darwin With this being said, below you’ll find a few life perspectives that hopefully can assist you when you find yourself stuck in the middle of a life changing situation. Have faith Trust …

Release control

”Allow your life to unfold naturally.” There’s a time for being ahead. A time for being at peace. There’s a time for being in motion. A time for being at rest. There’s a time for being vigorous. A time for being exhausted. To everything there’s a season. There’s a time for every purpose under the sun.  The words above got stuck with me as I listened to them the other day. No storm can last forever. Not even nature can create a storm that lasts forever. Hidden within every struggle is victory. Within every failure lies an opportunity. Hidden within yourself everything you’ll ever need. Every battle, and every difficulty molds you into a stronger human. As long as you know that you’re on the right path you’ll eventually end up where you want to go. There is and there was nothing like you, and there shall be nothing like you. Therefore, never seek to compare yourself with others. Nonetheless, let yourself be inspired by the people around you. Realize that you don’t have any real …

How to develop an empowered mindset

”Be humble enough to know that you’re far from perfect, and confident enough to know you can do almost anything you set your mind to.” Having a strong mindset is crucial in order to navigate through life with confidence, clarity and a deep sense of trust within oneself. However, what characterises a strong, empowered mindset, and what can you do to develop one? Every step forward, and every action, however small, is one step closer to where you’d like to be. Take the blindfold off, stay curious and walk with an open heart. It’s very common that we choose to stay in our little comfort zone, simply because it gives us a sense of security. People may become comfortable with having a job they hate, being stuck in a dysfunctional relationship, having feelings of sadness and underestimating oneself. In order to change something in your life you’ve to change yourself – you’ve to change your way of thinking. And lastly, you’ve to change where you put your attention. Where attention goes energy flows Where does …

How to be the best version of yourself

Other people will always have expectations from you, however, you know who you are, and what’s capable for you. Below you’ll find five mindsets on how to be the best version of yourself. Mindsets that I myself try, to the best of my abilities, to live by. 1. Embrace uncertainty

”In silence you’ll find yourself.” There are times when we are fully engaged in the things happening in the outside world that we simply forget to connect with the vast world within. Rest assured; the more you listen to and trust your own unique voice things will start flowing more effortlessly, regardless of how chaotic life may seem. Whenever I find myself completely caught up in my thoughts, and worrying about what’s to come I read these following lines from Eckhart Tolle’s book ”A New Earth”, and somehow his words always succed in bringing me peace of mind. ”Some changes may look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge. There may be a period of insecurity and uncertainty. What should I do? As the ego is no longer running your life, the psychological need for external security, which is illusory anyway, lessens. You are able to live with uncertainty, even enjoy it. When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities …
