The Power of Small Shifts

This week I felt like I needed a change. Nothing major, just little shifts to bring some excitement into my usual routine. On Tuesday, I went for an early morning run before work; something I almost never do. Yesterday, I tried the opposite – a late evening run. And today, I booked a private flower arranging course. Hopefully I can already go this Saturday! In between, I’ve been playing with the details of my day: trying new foods, wearing my scarf in different ways, swapping negative thoughts for positive ones. And I realised; it really doesn’t take much to feel a difference. Sometimes it’s just choosing coconut milk instead of oat milk, or taking another route to work. I keep coming back to this idea of small, consistent behaviour. The parts of my life where I feel most grounded are the ones I nurture daily. Eating in a way that feels good for my body. Spending time outdoors. Moving—whether it’s a run, ballet or just twenty minutes of pilates. It doesn’t have to be anything …

How to Elevate Your Life

”Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.” Before stepping into your elevated self you need to take a moment to cherish and forgive the past version of yourself; the version that does not serve you any longer, the version that you have outgrown. Maybe there are things in the past that you are not proud of; decisions you wish you had not made and plans not working out the way you hoped for. However, without these experiences you would not be where you are today. Everything you have gone through has taken you to this very moment. So, please forgive yourself for being too hard on yourself, for always judging your actions and whereabouts. You are exactly who you are meant to be right now. All is well in your life. And now when we have cleared that out… It is time to step into your elevated self. 1. First things first, become clear about the limiting beliefs and blocks that are holding you back from achieving your potential and stepping into your …

The Courage To Change

”She travels through phases to rise in full bloom.” – and so does the Moon As humans we often find ourselves struggling as soon as we encounter change of some sort. Nonetheless, change is inevitable for us to transform and evolve. It’s unavoidable, in order for us to become the humans we are meant to become. I’ve not always seen eye to eye with change. As a matter of fact I’ve always been afraid of change. Deeply afraid of change. In the past change usually made me feel uncomfortable, like I had no control over my life. No control over my Self. However small or big, it always made me feel uneasy. I wanted to feel safe, and at ease, despite the fact that the situation I was finding myself in was nothing but detrimental for my evolution as a human being. Nevertheless, as time passes by I’ve become to appreciate the uncertainty of life, and I’ve become to appreciate change. There’s beauty in wanting to change, in wanting to transform. There’s beauty in uncertainty. …

Cultivating change

When we go about our day to day life, doing the same mundane things on repeat, it’s easy to fall into the belief that we haven’t accomplished much. You might believe that there haven’t been any changes in your life the past couple of years. However, when you take a closer look at yourself, and the things you’ve done the past months, or even years, you realize that there have actually been some major changes going on. Changes that just happened, without you being aware. Like all of a sudden you realize that things are really different now. ”We have our eyes on things, we don’t yet possess, when instead we should embrace all the things we already have.” The thing is, when you’re caught up in the spinning wheel, it’s common to not stop and reflect, but to just keep on pushing further. Striving for more of this and that, everything you don’t yet have. We have our eyes on things we don’t yet possess, when instead we should embrace all the things we already …

Discovering flow

Maybe it’s not so much about finding oneself, but more so about discovering, and uncovering that self. ”I want to live life in such a manner that my words will never die.” l.m.v Lately I’ve noticed that the quieter my surroundings, hence the less stimuli I expose myself to, the more space I create for my inner voice to shine through. I easily distract myself with either work, social media, music, a podcast, a book or by watching YouTube. However, I do cherish the time off in-between; doing yoga, taking a walk in nature, exercising or meditating. Nevertheless, even then it’s not completely quiet around me, since I always have music, a podcast or a book in my ears. After one week with less stimuli, and outside distractions, I’ve once again noticed the importance of silence in order to hear the silent whispers of the soul, and to reach that so called flow state. It’s not uncommon that we humans find the silence to be boring and even frustrating – especially if one is not …

Never be afraid of change

”Choose to shine even after all the storms you’ve been through.”   Change can be hard, intimidating and messy. Painful even. However, in order to grow as humans we’ve to change. We’ve to challenge ourselves, and never be afraid of trying new things. Stay open minded – the world is limitless. Stay curious -the world is filled with possibilities. Change is helping you to become the person you’re meant to become.  Rule number 1 – You are not here to make others understand you. You’re here to understand yourself. The more you get to know yourself, the more effortless your life will become. Aristotle once said: ”Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”  It’s usually through change that you’ll find your true, authentic self. Change can of course be painless, simple and smooth – especially if you’re the one in charge of the change. Then I believe it’s more about the internal change, in other words; If you want to change what’s going on around you, you’ve to change what’s going on within you. Still, there …

Embracing change

”If you ever find yourself in the wrong story, leave.” – Mo Willems   I strongly believe that life works in mysterious ways. Nevertheless I like to think that life always works for us, not against us. For example it’s very common to settle in different areas of life; to settle in a job you hate, you procrastinate your biggest dreams, or you might simply not feel at ”home” in your environment anymore. We usually settle in life because it’s safe. The unknown scares us and we’re too afraid of what might happen if we actually start following our dreams. Failure scares the hell out of us. Fear definitely blocks us from growing, blocks us from living the life we dream of. However, if we’re too ignorant, and too afraid to do anything, life will sooner or later step in and make us do something, making change inevitable. This is what happened me today. The past months I’ve been thinking about maybe moving back to my home country. It’s not that I don’t feel at …
