Guided by Intuition

That feeling when you just understand, or know something, without the need for conscious reasoning. That immediate insight that emerges seemingly out of nowhere. It can manifest as a physical sensation—a tightening in the chest, a sudden clarity, or a quiet voice that whispers a direction.

But where does intuition come from? I don’t know, but I like to see it as a deep, and spiritual connection, a way for my inner most self to communicate with the more conscious part of me.

Intuition has always been a real and valuable aspect of my life. It’s not something I talk about often, simply because there are no words to describe it; it’s a feeling, a deep knowing inside that holds the truth, and learning to listen to it, is life-changing.

More often than not, intuitive choices lead you down a path that feels more aligned with who you are.

Why?

Because intuition is deeply personal. It’s not swayed by external factors or influenced by other people’s expectations. When you trust and rely on your intuition, you’re making choices that are true to your authentic self. This is particularly powerful in moments of uncertainty, or when facing decisions where the right choice isn’t immediately clear.

My intuition has always been that of a deep knowing, sometimes I even associate it to a psychic ability; I just know, and I can’t explain in words why I know – it’s simply a strong feeling in my entire body. And trust me, I know how frustrating it can be when you would like to explain yourself, but you just can’t, cause there are no words for the things beyond words.

This requires a deep trust in yourself. A trust I didn’t have when I was a child with a strong intuition. I simply chose to neglect and quiet down my inner voice. I didn’t understand its power. However, there were moments I chose to listen and follow it, and those are also the most valuable moments. Intuition is nothing without trust. If you don’t trust that hunch, that feeling, that knowing, you’re out of alignment with yourself. With great trust comes strong intuition.

Are there also other ways we can strengthen our intuition?

Of course. Like any skill, intuition can be developed and refined. Below you’ll find a few ways to strengthen your connection to your inner guide:

  1. Embrace silence: Intuition thrives in stillness. By practicing mindfulness or meditation, you quiet the outside noise of daily life and tune in to your inner world of wisdom. If you’re new to sitting in silence, start with just a few minutes a day, focusing on your breath and observing your thoughts without judgment. Over time, you’ll become more attuned to the subtle signals of your intuition.
  2. Pay Attention to Your Body: Intuition often communicates through physical sensations, like a flutter in the stomach, a tightness in the chest, or a sense of peace in the heart. These can all be indicators of what your intuition is trying to tell you. Start noticing how your body responds in different situations and see if there’s a pattern.
  3. Journal Regularly: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you tap into your intuition. Journal about decisions you’re facing and notice any recurring themes or insights that emerge. Often, the act of writing allows your intuitive thoughts to surface.
  4. Trust Small Hunches: I live by these! Listening to the quiet whispers of my soul; ”Go there.” ”Create this.” ”Try this.” – It’s my inner compass, my guide. Start with trusting your intuition in small, everyday matters. Whether it’s choosing what to eat, which route to take, or deciding on a new hobby, give your gut feeling a chance. As you see positive outcomes, you’ll build confidence in your intuition.
  5. Reflect on Past Decisions: Look back at times when you trusted your intuition and note the results. This reflection can reinforce your belief in your inner guidance and help you recognise its value in future decisions.

With this being said, intuition doesn’t mean abandoning logic or reason. The aim is to find a balance between the two. You’ll need both a map and a compass when travelling through life. Logic helps you understand the terrain, while intuition points you in the right direction.

Letting your intuition guide you requires practice, patience, and a deep willingness to trust yourself. We live in a world that often demands evidence and certainty, and trusting your intuition feels a little bit like stepping into the unknown. But as you begin to rely more on your intuition, you’ll find that life flows more naturally, with less friction and more moments of magic. Guided by your intuition your life will feel more authentic, covered by a greater sense of ease and clarity.
