In our achievement-oriented world, surrender might seem like an undesirable concept. Yet, learning the art of surrender can bring profound peace and fulfilment. Surrender is not about giving up or choosing to be passive. Instead, it is about letting go of the need to control every outcome, embracing uncertainty, and trusting the flow of life. Trusting yourself.
To invite calm. A deep knowing that it has already happened; ”What I seek, is seeking me.” Recognising that growth lies on the other side of fear.
– When we’re feeling fearful it’s common for us to try to control every aspect of life; even those aspects we have no control over. Imagine how much unnecessary energy is going into that. After a while we’ll start to feel tired, unmotivated and unable to move forward – we’ll become stuck, stuck in our own minds. –
It’s completely OK to feel fear, however, never let fear be in charge of your decisions.
It’s safe for you to surrender. It’s safe for you to be you, and to express yourself in the way that comes most naturally to you. It’s safe to not be liked by all. You are worthy of being here, even if no one would recognise your efforts. You are worthy of taking up space. It’s safe to trust that you are being taken care of. All is well. It’s safe to let go.
Living your dream life, and pursuing your goals is not about focusing on the end results; it’s about living it – the daily efforts you put forth, every tiny action you take on a day-to-day basis, your habits, your thoughts – this is what make up your dream life. You can live your dream life today, in this moment – it’s up to you to decide. And last but not least, living your dream life is knowing you are worthy of having dreams and fulfilling them. There is nothing selfish with choosing yourself and your wellbeing.
When you surrender, you start saying yes to life. You’ll start noticing and appreciating the mundane, seemingly ”boring” moments in life. Since your energy is not focused on trying to control, there will be much more energy to explore, to enjoy. Life is not waiting for, looking forward to, or when I have this or that. Life is now. Life is enjoying your cup of tea in silence early morning, laughing with your kids, cooking meals with your loved ones, crying at a beautiful flower, singing in the shower, dancing in the kitchen. Life is being curious, hopeful, bold. Sometimes afraid, but somehow still choosing to move forward. Still choosing to trust.
