Dear September…

… and my heart melted. ”While some people like to dance underneath the stars in June, others like to play with the red leaves of September, And I’m blissfully, wholeheartedly stuck in the middle.” … And like the wisest of them all, you’re letting go of what no longer serves you. Your brisk wind makes everything rejuvenating. The days; alluring and brightful, the nights; dark and calm. I see a star waiting to be born, intentions waiting to be established, a nature waiting to be cherished, and a life waiting to be lived.  September is for watching red leaves falling. Creating space. Caring for oneself, and others. Just like nature, we transform. Becoming whole, empowered and complete. Putting positive intentions into everything we do. Silently witness the beauty of nature – notice how seductively and effortlessly she’s unfolding her treasures. Fearless. September is for enjoying the darkness, as well as the bright light within. It’s for grasping opportunities. Looking within for happiness, success and courage. Sometimes the things we want the most are closer than we think. …

Dear August…

… you make me feel at home. At home in this restless soul of mine. ”Darling, if you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” The leaves shine bright in warm golden light. Utterly mesmerized, while watching summer falling artlessly in love with the early breaths of fall, whispering final words of goodbyes. Be aware darling human, be aware, you’re shifting, like the softest, brittlest wind. Stay open, be alert, now, the perfect time for a rebirth. While I’ve always kept summer close to my heart, still and all I believe my soul breathes for fall. August is for faith. Love and compassion. Knowing one’s worth, and the ability to shine light in another person’s life. Taking care of the body, as well as the soul. Exploring new cities and friendships. It’s for constantly learning, constantly evolving. Small steps in the right direction. Appreciating every victory, every mistake. Blissful mornings. Dark, quiet evenings. Golden opportunities from dusk till dawn. The ability to inspire other human beings. Improving the quality of life. Challenging …

Dear March…

… give me a winter to wake up, and deserve you. ”I just want to breathe in the ocean for a little while, forever.” Can you hear spring whisper softly in the garden? Her warm caress melting frozen hearts. Time to be bold, take the leap and know, on cloudy days the sun is still there, underneath. Darling, I believe we’ll become dearest of friends. I wish to see you laugh. I hope you make me laugh. Oh how you melt my heart – come, dance with me. Darling, spin with me. And before I fall asleep, remember, gently kiss me on my cheek, and know, you’ll always be the one I seek. March is for the sun so boldly shining. Coming alive. Quietly crying for the moon, and the stars. Time standing still, frozen, for us. Snow will be falling, flowers start blooming. A precious mix when nature can’t decide. 4 am, and my mind intense, the breath calm. Smelling hope, kissing the soft morning rain, moving with the waves. They say she loves too …

A child-like wonder

At times it’s easy to lose touch with the simple pleasures of life. However, don’t let the stresses of grown-up life overshadow the child-like wonder that resides within you. Nurturing your curiosity and awe can bring immense joy and positivity into your life. Children possess an innate ability to find wonder in the smallest of things—the beauty of a butterfly, the sound of raindrops, or the taste of a favourite treat. As we grow older, such moments of enchantment can become scarce, but know, they are not lost forever. By consciously cultivating a child-like wonder, you can rekindle the joy that comes from experiencing the world with fresh eyes. One way to tap into your inner child-like wonder is to slow down and allow yourself to be present in the moment. Children are experts at immersing themselves fully in whatever they are doing, whether it’s playing with toys, exploring nature, or engaging in some kind of imaginative play. As adults, we can learn from this by setting aside time to engage in activities that spark …

A Guide to Romanticizing Everyday Moments

It’s easy to overlook the beauty in the ordinary. We often find ourselves longing for grand adventures and extraordinary moments, forgetting all about the magic hidden in the simplicity of our daily lives. The art of romanticizing the ordinary allows us to discover the extraordinary in the mundane, transforming the smallest moments into cherished experiences. To romanticize the ordinary, start by being fully present in the moment. Put away distractions, take a deep breath, and immerse yourself in the sensations around you. Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee, walking in the park, buying flowers, or cooking a simple meal, savour these experiences with mindful awareness. You can always choose to be a little bit more here, and a little less there.. Train yourself to notice the details that surround you. Appreciate the morning sunlight through the curtains, or the soothing sound of raindrops on your window. By paying attention to these details, you’ll notice the poetry hidden in the ordinary. Introduce rituals into your daily routine to make the ordinary into something special. It could …

How to embrace slow living in your everyday life

”A quiet mind is able to hear intuition over fear.” The present moment – the only moment there is for us to be alive. Humans are very good at preparing to live, but not very good a living. Habitually dwelling in the past and dreaming of the future, while having difficulties concentrating the mind on the present moment. The concept of slow living has never been more relevant. As we navigate the fast-paced currents of 2024, the slow living movement urges us to pause, breathe, and savour the simple joys of life. Slow living is about creating time, space and energy for the things that matter most to us in life. It’s about taking the time to do things properly, and thereby enjoy them more. Allowing ourselves to be fully present. I think it was Socrates who said: ”The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” There are of course many mindsets one can incorporate in order to embrace a slower kind of …

The flow of life

”Destruction breeds creation.” Life is a series of natural, and spontaneous changes. To obtain peace and happiness, it’s vital that we become comfortable with everything that’s unfolding; circumstances taking place, feelings and emotions running through our bodies, as well as people dancing in and out of our lives. Change is the nature of life. It’s the nature of your being. The only rational thing for us to do is to embrace every aspect of life – the good and the bad, the highs and the lows, the love and the fear – whatever life may present us with; shouldn’t we just dive right in, and at least try our best in line with the moment we’re in. But what if, there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so, as William Shakespeare so neatly put it. According to the Vedas (the primary texts of Hinduism) there is no such thing as good or bad, right or wrong. There are only creation -> maintenance -> destruction. Then back to creation. Flowing like a beautiful …

How to Live in Alignment with the Seasons

”And maybe it’s actually not so much about changing, but more so about becoming the person one always has been. Not finding oneself, but recognising and honouring that self.” – l.m.v There’s a timeless wisdom in tuning into the natural rhythms of the seasons. Living in alignment with the seasons is a gentle reminder that, just like nature, we transform. Throughout our lives we learn how to evolve, how to let go, surrender and rest. Let’s explore how we can benefit from aligning our lifestyles with the everchanging seasons. Winter – A Season of Rest and Introspection Winter, often associated with stillness, provides an opportunity for rest and introspection. And it’s a beautiful time to learn and practise patience. Just as nature takes a pause to prepare for the next cycle, you too can benefit from slowing down. Embrace the longer nights as a chance to recharge, reflect on the past year, and set intentions for your future; which seeds do you wish to plant and watch grow during spring and summer? Create a cosy, …

Dear January…

… be brave enough to speak your truth. ”If you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” January is for awakening to the authenticity within the soul. While nature’s half asleep – breathe, darling, breathe. Evolve, one precious step at a time. Trust yourself, never neglect your true worth. Your true light. Strive for progression, growth and compassion. There’s always something to be grateful for. Life. Dear human, be grateful for life.  January is for taking that delicate, and crucial first step. A beautiful opportunity to begin anew arises, sunrise after sunrise. Breath after breath. Souls awakening from the darkest of night. From the deep, deep slumber we all return to light. Guided by the strength within, shining bright. Brave being, believe in your Self. Now. Appreciate the journey, for it moulds you into the human being you are. Now. Into the human you are becoming. Now. The human you’ve always been. Now. Know that it’s ok to be scared, to not have all the answers. Be ambitious anyway. Be curious, be brave. It’s about listening, having faith. Allowing …

5 ways to be more present

”Watch the seasons unfolding.” Introducing more presence to your day-today life has many benefits to your overall wellbeing, however, you don’t have to turn into a meditation guru in order to become more mindful. There are several ways by which you can invite stillness, and thereby welcome a more conscious awareness to your daily life. James Baraz puts it very nicely: ”Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” Below you’ll find five ways that might help you breathe a bit slower. – walk in nature – ”trust the seasons changing, trust your inner voice; it knows.” There’s a special thing being one with nature, whether it’s watching the ocean, smelling the forest, hiking in the autumn mountains, taking a midnight swim or laughing up in the air. Nature has a tendency to teach us plenty; she teaches us how …
