Why self-care is an inner journey

I matter I truly cherish a real glow-up day with my whole heart—morning meditation, mat Pilates, face massage, skincare routine, dry brushing, a shower, and finishing it all off by moisturising my entire body. Closer to a goddess I cannot become. This is me every morning. Some would call it high-maintenance; I call it important time with myself. This is simply an outer form of self-care, yet within its vanity there lies a deeper meaning: I matter. You see, it’s not so much what you do, but why you do it. Do you do it to get others to like you, or do you do it because you love yourself? A 10-step skin care routine won’t magically transform you to a self-loving individual who knows their worth. Without the inner form of self-care, the outer form stands worthless. But what is that inner form of self-care? How does it show up in your life? It’s sticking to your promises. It’s making time for your hobbies in a hectic schedule. It’s allowing yourself to simply be …

I am not from here

I love humans. I really do think they are rather amusing. But why so serious? Why so fearful of the unknown? Always complaining about being deprived, while deeply unaware they’re sitting on an enormous treasure chest. Being utmost beautiful, while screaming at their mirror, pointing out unnoticeable shortcomings. What do you know, you might ask. Yes, what do I actually know, not being from here. But you see, I live here. 40+ years I’ve been curiously interacting, more often observing, this strange earthly behaviour. There are so many questions arising in my chest. I seem to have lost the answers. Could I please ask you to help me find them? The other day I heard this intelligent and attractive woman complaining. It seemed that everything was wrong in her life, and she kept on blaming herself for every decision she’d made. Another man was yelling at his children to hurry up, they had somewhere important they had to be. – What is more important than where you are right now, I thought. And then there …

Finding contentment in everyday rituals

Routines can make everyday life feel automatic, making our days run on autopilot without us noticing. Tasks turn into chores, and to-do lists become boxes we check without thought. Somewhere along the way, we lose sight of the why. But what if we chose to treat these daily tasks as gentle rituals? Simple, grounding rituals that nurture our wellbeing—brewing a cup of coffee or tea early morning, strolling through the grocery aisles, journaling, enjoying an afternoon walk, or ending the day with a comforting shower. It’s the small, precious moments that shape our days. Days become weeks, weeks become months, months turn into years, and years shape a life. When practiced with intention, these daily rituals, create pockets of calm and help keep us grounded in the present moment. When we slow down, create quiet space and reconnect with ourselves we help our bodies and minds to re-center. And the best part, you do not need to make any drastic shifts; small pockets hear and there throughout the day can make wonders for your wellbeing. …

Soft habits to come back to yourself

At times, the outside world can make us feel a little uneasy, frustrated, or overwhelmed. Everywhere we turn, there’s noise, opinions and endless stimulation. There’s always something to react to, absorb, or be affected by—sometimes without us even realising it. And sure, all of this external input can be inspiring. It can spark ideas or fuel our creativity. But it can also become too much. There are moments when we don’t recognise the sound of our own voice, because it has been buried beneath the volume of everything coming from the outside. In those moments, it’s vital to take a step back and to reconnect with our own voice. To return to our own intuition. Most of the time, the answers we’re looking for aren’t out there—they’re within us. But to access that inner wisdom, we need space. We need peace. We need stillness. That’s where soft habits come in. These gentle, grounding rituals that can help us return to ourselves. Here are a few of my personal favorites—habits I come back to when I need to …

Dear September…

… and my heart melted. ”While some people like to dance underneath the stars in June, others like to play with the red leaves of September, And I’m blissfully, wholeheartedly stuck in the middle.” … And like the wisest of them all, you’re letting go of what no longer serves you. Your brisk wind makes everything rejuvenating. The days; alluring and brightful, the nights; dark and calm. I see a star waiting to be born, intentions waiting to be established, a nature waiting to be cherished, and a life waiting to be lived.  September is for watching red leaves falling. Creating space. Caring for oneself, and others. Just like nature, we transform. Becoming whole, empowered and complete. Putting positive intentions into everything we do. Silently witness the beauty of nature – notice how seductively and effortlessly she’s unfolding her treasures. Fearless. September is for enjoying the darkness, as well as the bright light within. It’s for grasping opportunities. Looking within for happiness, success and courage. Sometimes the things we want the most are closer than we think. …

Dear March…

… give me a winter to wake up, and deserve you. ”I just want to breathe in the ocean for a little while, forever.” Can you hear spring whisper softly in the garden? Her warm caress melting frozen hearts. Time to be bold, take the leap and know, on cloudy days the sun is still there, underneath. Darling, I believe we’ll become dearest of friends. I wish to see you laugh. I hope you make me laugh. Oh how you melt my heart – come, dance with me. Darling, spin with me. And before I fall asleep, remember, gently kiss me on my cheek, and know, you’ll always be the one I seek. March is for the sun so boldly shining. Coming alive. Quietly crying for the moon, and the stars. Time standing still, frozen, for us. Snow will be falling, flowers start blooming. A precious mix when nature can’t decide. 4 am, and my mind intense, the breath calm. Smelling hope, kissing the soft morning rain, moving with the waves. They say she loves too …

Dear February…

… let’s be brave enough to speak up about the things important to us. ”It’s in the things that deeply inspires us that we find ourselves.” During the darkest of hours, a frost-kissed morning, my first screaming breath, with you. Cupid’s arrows, in the air they flew, as everyone below a starlit sky knew. Valentine’s whispers, sweet, dark and true, in February, love is set anew. Snowflakes fell, like delicate lace, covering our world in a soft embrace. Yet hints of spring began to appear, a promise of warmth, curiously near. Amidst the cold, a comfort profound, February’s wisdom, all around. February is for evolving, getting one year richer. One year wiser. Staying curious, and open-minded. Finding joy and laughter, everything we sought after. It’s about speaking up, being true to our own unique voices. It’s time to stop being afraid of getting older – it’s time to show our deepest appreciation instead. Becoming curious enough to want to know more about ourselves, and the ways in which we can expand. There’s much to discover …

Dear January…

… be brave enough to speak your truth. ”If you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” January is for awakening to the authenticity within the soul. While nature’s half asleep – breathe, darling, breathe. Evolve, one precious step at a time. Trust yourself, never neglect your true worth. Your true light. Strive for progression, growth and compassion. There’s always something to be grateful for. Life. Dear human, be grateful for life.  January is for taking that delicate, and crucial first step. A beautiful opportunity to begin anew arises, sunrise after sunrise. Breath after breath. Souls awakening from the darkest of night. From the deep, deep slumber we all return to light.
