A bird’s eye view

”The eyes are useless when the mind is blind.” How to master the art of observing life with an open mind? Where others see either black or white, to learn to see the rainbow? Life is a spectrum of moments, occurring one after the other. Anything can happen. And it’s impossible for us to know what might be hiding behind the corner. We’re allowed to change – in fact we should, change, and grow. In line with each and everyone of your breaths you are allowed to be. Exactly the one you were meant to be. For the most part of my life I’ve tried to live with an open-mind. I’m very curious, and I’ve always thought that there can’t be one answer to all of this. Of course not. My opinions do not have to align with yours. However, I will always respect you, for being you. For your actions, and thoughts, even those I don’t agree with. ”Oh, you think like that, interesting.” I think if we humans would strive to become better …

The Courage To Change

”She travels through phases to rise in full bloom.” – and so does the Moon As humans we often find ourselves struggling as soon as we encounter change of some sort. Nonetheless, change is inevitable for us to transform and evolve. It’s unavoidable, in order for us to become the humans we are meant to become. I’ve not always seen eye to eye with change. As a matter of fact I’ve always been afraid of change. Deeply afraid of change. In the past change usually made me feel uncomfortable, like I had no control over my life. No control over my Self. However small or big, it always made me feel uneasy. I wanted to feel safe, and at ease, despite the fact that the situation I was finding myself in was nothing but detrimental for my evolution as a human being. Nevertheless, as time passes by I’ve become to appreciate the uncertainty of life, and I’ve become to appreciate change. There’s beauty in wanting to change, in wanting to transform. There’s beauty in uncertainty. …

The quest for external validation

”You don’t need someone else’s permission to live your own life.” How do one find the confidence to follow their heart, in a world where one were taught to always seek approval from others? ”See me!” ”Value me!” ”Listen to me!” But in a society where everyone seems to be so caught up in themselves, and simultaneously preoccupied with what everyone else is doing; how can we actually trust anyone but ourselves when it comes to important decisions as what to do with our lives? How can we expect anyone to listen to us if they haven’t even taken the time out of their day to listen to themselves? This constant need of having to seek approval is a never ending circus. Nevertheless, it’s very common for us humans to seek other people’s blessings before we feel we have the right to do something. We migt be doubting ourselves and our capabilities, and therefore seek to be validated by others. Confidence is not about being perfect – it’s not about having it all figured out, …

How to live a simpler life

”Let the stillness guide you.” A still, simple life, is created from within. However chaotic and stressful the outside world may seem, you’re always guided back to the serene comfort floating above, within and beyond. You sense it, at times you can even touch it, feel it. You’re aware of it. You are it. It is you. You don’t have to move to the countryside, declutter your entire home or spend time in solitude 24/7 in order to embrace a slower and simpler kind of living. You can of course, if that is what you want. However, simple living is more about incorporating a more meaningful way of living. In other words, it’s something that is highly connected with your mindset, hence how you spend your everyday life. How you are interacting with others, and the words you’re using when talking to and about yourself. What kind of intentions are you setting for the day ahead? How do you wish to communicate, and interact with the people in your life? Do you dedicate time to …

Cultivating change

When we go about our day to day life, doing the same mundane things on repeat, it’s easy to fall into the belief that we haven’t accomplished much. You might believe that there haven’t been any changes in your life the past couple of years. However, when you take a closer look at yourself, and the things you’ve done the past months, or even years, you realize that there have actually been some major changes going on. Changes that just happened, without you being aware. Like all of a sudden you realize that things are really different now. ”We have our eyes on things, we don’t yet possess, when instead we should embrace all the things we already have.” The thing is, when you’re caught up in the spinning wheel, it’s common to not stop and reflect, but to just keep on pushing further. Striving for more of this and that, everything you don’t yet have. We have our eyes on things we don’t yet possess, when instead we should embrace all the things we already …

When you’re feeling overwhelmed & stuck

”Find the courage to let go of what you can’t change.” We’ve all been there – feeling unmotivated and uninspired. Stuck in our own minds. But know that you can take your life in a new direction at any time. Even the smallest of changes, and adjustments can turn a mundane routine into a new exciting one; it’s all about perspectives. Every now and then it’s good to change things up, to keep thoughts and routines, fresh, in order to stay motivated and inspired. It’s easy to become under-stimulated if you keep on doing the same things, over and over again. And when things don’t happen as quickly as you would have hoped for it’s easy to lose the creativity, and that inner fire. You might not see instant results, something negative happens to you or you might just wake up one morning feeling unmotivated for no particular reason. In these situations it’s even more important that you hold on to hope, and try to see the moment for what it is – a moment …

Dear August…

… you make me feel at home. At home in this restless soul of mine. ”Darling, if you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” The leaves shine bright in warm golden light. Utterly mesmerized, while watching summer falling artlessly in love with the early breaths of fall, whispering final words of goodbyes. Be aware darling human, be aware, you’re shifting, like the softest, brittlest wind. Stay open, be alert, now, the perfect time for a rebirth. While I’ve always kept summer close to my heart, still and all I believe my soul breathes for fall. August is for faith. Love and compassion. Knowing one’s worth, and the ability to shine light in another person’s life. Taking care of the body, as well as the soul. Exploring new cities and friendships. It’s for constantly learning, constantly evolving. Small steps in the right direction. Appreciating every victory, every mistake. Blissful mornings. Dark, quiet evenings. Golden opportunities from dusk till dawn. The bright sunlight caressing thirsty hearts. Thirsty souls. The ability to inspire other …

Dear July…

… hug me, I want to feel your heart beat. ”Sometimes I’m weak, scared and vulnerable, nevertheless, more often I’m strong, confident and alive. At peace.” July is for chasing dreams. Catching stars. Peaceful, dark summer nights. July is for late evening swims, enjoying the calmness of the sea. The calmness of the heart. July is for creativity, an imagination deeper than ever. The dark, dark sky filled with stars. Filled with hope. July is for believing in the power of nature. The power of humanity. Humid days and foggy nights. July is for beautiful souls searching for inner peace. Inner light. Loving kindness, curiosity and bravery. Everything is temporarily; the dark night, the softness of a new dawn. Flow with the current. Flow with the speed of light. Darling, be the light. Be the love this beautiful world so desperately needs. Find comfort within. Turn inwards, speak to your soul – let it out, let it dance. July darling, we discovered something lately. Something serene, spacious and still. To carry with us. Wherever we …

Meditate

”We do our best work when we care for each other, and are cared for.” Ever since I tried meditation for the first time I was fascinated by the positive impact it had on me. Nonetheless, I’m far from a meditation guru, and I’ve only meditated regularly for approximately 5 years. Still and all, I believe it has helped me stress less, especially over things I can’t control. Moreover, I find it easier to stay focused, and to keep my mind more sharp and attentive when needed. In addition to the things mentioned above I’ve also noticed a remarkable change when it comes to my creativity. Of course, there might be a lot of factors influencing these ”changes”. Nonetheless, one factor is for sure the meditation part. Meditation is scientifically proven to increase both Neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to change itself) as well as Neurogenesis (the brain’s ability to generate new brain cells). Dopamin & serotonin = Bliss Chemicals From a neuro chemical viewpoint meditation can be seen as something deeply favorable, considering that mediation de-exites the nervous …

Let the silence speak to you

”In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” – Deepak Chopra In this moment you can find suffering or meaning, fear or curiosity. You can choose to see the world through the eyes of hate, or you can let love be the guiding force. Clarity might not always be found through the intellect, but experienced in stillness. Quiet down, and the more you’re able to hear. Some might fear the stillness, simply because they’re not used to it. What to do with it? Complete silence, except the sound of the heartbeat. Rising. Thoughts popping up. Do something, don’t just sit there. Wasting your time. Becoming aware of the breath. In. Out. In. Out. Feeling calmer. Lighter. Sensing the energy in the hands. Alive. I’m alive. The present moment – the only moment where there is freedom from the past, from the conditioned mind. You’re simply here, realising there is nowhere else to be. But here. ”To a mind that is still, a whole universe surrenders.” – Lao Tzu To become aware …
