Discomfort – an opportunity for growth

”You’re being presented with two choices; evolve or repeat.” In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety. Each time we’re faced with a challenge it’s very easy to become caught up in thoughts about everything that could go wrong, instead of being excited about everything that could go right. This mindset is to a certain extent completely natural, and our bodies and minds way of keeping us from danger, hence keeping us from stepping into the unknown. To fully embrace oneself, and to accept oneself exactly as one is, is a lifelong journey in and of itself. To some of us it might come naturally, without us even thinking about it. However, to others it takes a deeper kind of practice – something that needs to be nurtured daily. It’s difficult to not become caught up in the demands of the outside world; constantly comparing ourselves to others, or simply never being satisfied with who we are. As a highly sensitive empath I fell …

An open mind

”The eyes are useless when the mind is blind.” How to master the art of observing life with an open mind? Where others see either black or white, to learn to see the rainbow? Life is a spectrum of moments, occurring one after the other. Anything can happen. And it’s impossible for us to know what might be hiding behind the corner. We’re allowed to change – in fact we should; change, and grow. In line with each and everyone of your breaths you are allowed to be. Exactly the one you were meant to be. Open your mind Don’t care to be right, care to understand. Don’t expect people to agree with everything you say, expect them to have their own view on things. Don’t impose your beliefs on others. Accept all of life’s perspectives and realities, in peace, without judgment. ”It’s the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” – Aristotle What it means is, you should learn to look at life with a bird’s …

5 ways to be more present

”Watch the seasons unfolding.” Introducing more presence to your day-today life has many benefits to your overall wellbeing, however, you don’t have to turn into a meditation guru in order to become more mindful. There are several ways by which you can invite stillness, and thereby welcome a more conscious awareness to your daily life. James Baraz puts it very nicely: ”Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” Below you’ll find five ways that might help you breathe a bit slower. – walk in nature – ”trust the seasons changing, trust your inner voice; it knows.” There’s a special thing being one with nature, whether it’s watching the ocean, smelling the forest, hiking in the autumn mountains, taking a midnight swim or laughing up in the air. Nature has a tendency to teach us plenty; she teaches us how …

5 habits to improve your life

”Now is the perfect time to start imagining all that you can do.” It’s never too late to implement fresh, new habits to your day-to-day routine. If you’re looking for a mini life-makeover, then, first things first, you need to start from within. In other words, start with your mental state, since most often it’s the root to all problems. If you don’t change what’s going on inside your mind – with your thoughts, and the way you view yourself and the world around you – then it’s going to be difficult to find a new sense of happiness, contentment and inspiration. Below you’ll find 5 positive habits to implement in 2024: Patience ”Allow things to unfold naturally.” I believe the main difference between successful and unsuccessful people is not the way they vary in their competencies, but the way they vary in their ambition, and desires to reach their potential. Persistence and patience is key, since good things usually take time. Embrace life. Everything in life happens for a reason; whether the reason is for you …

8 ways to get into a creative flow

It’s easy to lose sight of creativity when things don’t happen as quickly as hoped for. You might not see any results, something negative happen, or maybe you wake up one morning feeling unmotivated for no particular reason. In these situations it’s even more important that you hold on to trust, and try to see the moment for what it is – a moment to reflect, and recharge. Getting back into your groove again. One crucial thing to bear in mind when going through times feeling uninspired and unmotivated is to accept your feelings. Don’t take them too seriously, since they are temporarily, and you don’t need to invite them in for tea – keep the door open and let them pass. Don’t push yourself to feel a certain way, to be something you’re not. The lack of motivation is only a phase, and sometimes the only thing you can do is to breathe a little deeper, and take a step back. Even nature slows down during winter. And yes, this might make you feel …

Ten traits of successful humans

”We rise by lifting others.” When nothing is certain, anything is possible. My personal opinion when it comes to success is that I believe successful people are those who are living their passion, following their dreams and pursuing their goals in life – even though, at times, the path might be uncertain. Even though the path is dark, their inner light will always guide them.  It’s rather common to talk about what we want in life; we write about it, and we dream about it. We might even visualize how we achieve our dreams and our goals. But for many of us, it all stops there. What traits do successful humans have, that the persons who is stuck in their dreams, and keep on being stuck in their dreams, do not have? Below you’ll find ten traits that I strongly believe will have a great impact whether one becomes successful or not. Nevertheless, success looks different for everyone. Therefore it’s of utmost importance that you define what success means to you. Focus on what you’re …

Dear December…

… you set my soul on fire. ”With the moon and with the stars, how can we say we don’t have enough?” The silent hour of night, and my heart suddenly arise. Caressing my awaken sight, while awaiting life, with blissful eyes. Watching snowflakes quietly at rest, the moon, shining its light upon us. 50 shades of snow, wherever we choose to go. Darling December, the way you transform the darkness at 4 am. The world still, sky black, mind intense. Emotions wide awake, heart half asleep, in a blissful lullaby sleep. I hope your dreams are sweet.  December is for love and laughter. Peace and joy. The bright-pink sky with heart-shaped clouds, peacefully passing by. It’s for warm-hearted gestures, compassion and loving-kindness. Snowflakes dancing outside our window, making every moment irresistible. Gifts wrapped up in affection, kindness and hope. It’s December, you can wish for anything. What will you wish for? This December is all about giving more of yourself. Give your time, your attention. Your love and laughter. It’s about awareness, tenderness. Blissfulness. Music filled …

The present moment experience

”Honour the season your’re in.” The leaves dancing in the breath of wind, as the blue bird performing season’s final hymn. Until next year, dear humming creature, next year. The warm breeze caressing fragile skins. Breathing it all in, autumn laughing in the warm-hearted wind – I’ll carry your lyrics, wherever I go. Sing to me, little fella, sing to me.  This is the door to all that is. Celebrate the moment, and awaken to the magic unfolding.  The present moment; the only moment there is for us to be alive. Humans are very good at preparing to live, but not very good a living. Habitually dwelling in the past and dreaming of the future, while having difficulties concentrating the mind on the present moment. Wherever you are, you are home. Wherever you find yourself; whether you’re stuck in a rut, anxious, or simply lost in the fast spinning outside world – whatever the present moment contains – accept, then act. Always work with life, not against life. One way of controlling life is by becoming more …

The utmost freedom

”Maybe when humans stop running away from themselves, the world will become a kinder, more peaceful place.” At times freedom has little to do with the outside world, and circumstances. Man becomes free the moment he becomes free of thought. When he does not longer obsess over the constant chatter in his mind, but instead turns towards the heart. Freedom from compulsive thinking, desire, addiction, outside validation, constant approval. How does one become free of all that? One needs to stop. One needs to allow himself to slow down, to listen. When one is constantly bombarding himself with stimuli from outside sources it becomes nearly impossible to hear, or see anything. How is one able to listen to the whispers of the soul if one is continually caught up in the outside circus? How is it possible to become aware of the song of the heart when the sirens of the external environment is set on full volume? One does not typically feel comfortable sitting alone with one’s thoughts. To realise just how dysfunctional they …

”There’s no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this.” To seek out adventure doesn’t always equal travelling abroad to a far away country, jumping out of a plane or swimming with sharks. What if you could make every day a little bit more adventurous just by challenging your mindset, and changing up some of those mundane routines of yours? Below you’ll find a few mindsets and habits that hopefully can assist you in making your every day life a bit more exciting and joyful. Explore your neighbourhood. Usually it’s the places we are the most exposed to, that we take for granted or fail to appreciate. Have you, in the past few days, taken the time to literally stop and look around?
