Don’t fight the boredom

Lately, I’ve noticed the urge to fill almost every waking moment with stimuli. Whether it’s listening to a podcast while walking, scrolling through Instagram before bed, reading a book, or putting on music while cooking — there’s this constant need to avoid the quiet. Normally, I enjoy silence, the stillness of simply being in the moment. But sometimes the outside circus takes over and pulls me into its endless plays and entertainments, leaving me disconnected from myself. Fortunately, I catch it more quickly these days. After about a week my body and mind start to feel anxious and uneasy, and I stop to ask: why? Then I realise — too many distractions, too much noise, and not enough space for boredom. The thing is, boredom is actually good for us. We don’t need to be stimulated every waking hour. By allowing ourselves to feel bored, we open the door for creativity and fresh ideas to emerge. So now, I sit with my coffee or tea in bed before the day begins, simply being. I walk …

Dear September…

… and my heart melted. ”While some people like to dance underneath the stars in June, others like to play with the red leaves of September. And I’m blissfully, wholeheartedly, stuck in the middle.” … And like the wisest of them all, you’re letting go of what no longer serves you. Your brisk wind makes everything rejuvenating. The days; alluring and brightful, the nights; dark and calm. I see a star waiting to be born, intentions waiting to be established, a nature waiting to be cherished, and a life waiting to be lived.  September is for watching red leaves falling. Creating space. Caring for oneself, and others. Just like nature, we transform. Becoming whole, empowered and complete. Silently witness the beauty of nature – notice how seductively and effortlessly she’s unfolding her treasures. Fearless. September is for enjoying the darkness, as well as the bright light within. It’s for grasping opportunities. Looking within for happiness, success and courage. Sometimes the things we want the most are closer than we think. PAUSE. ”Life starts all over again when …

How to be a happier human

Let’s talk about happiness. Although, I prefer to call it contentment. While happiness is often just a fleeting moment, contentment feels more like a stable, lasting state—a mindset not affected by external events. So, how can we become more content or ”happier”? I like to see it as a choice. Every morning when we wake up, we have the power to decide how we want to feel. However, we sometimes give that power away, by letting others’ actions or external circumstances dictate our mood. We allow outside things to ruin our day, forgetting that we hold the control. Ultimately, it’s about taking responsibility for your mood. Realising that you’re the one in control also means that you need to take action; maybe you need to change things in your life that you’re not satisfied with, and that requires effort. So, it’s easier to stay in the comfort zone, and let things remain as they always have been. Breaking out of it and choosing a different mindset takes courage, but that’s where true growth and contentment …

You are not behind

”Allow the noise to dissolve, and let there be space for what truly brings you joy.” When life is not flowing in the direction you like, it might seem that everything around you is falling apart. It’s easy to slip into a spiral of negative thinking; comparing yourself to others and fixating only on what’s lacking in your life. This mindset of self-victimization doesn’t serve you; in fact, it will only make you feel worse and do nothing to improve your circumstances. But why is it so easy to fall into this negative headspace? Maybe it’s our brain’s way of shielding us from disappointment, or maybe it’s just a sign – a wake-up call – urging us to become aware and recognise that it’s time to change course. Whatever you’re facing right now, know that it’s simply a phase. But it’s a phase that deserves your attention, not your neglect. Instead, turn inwards and ask yourself – What is this feeling trying to teach me? Is there something I can do to make myself feel …

This August – Make space for what you love

To me, August has always been a time for new beginnings, more so than January. Growing up, it marked the beginning of the school year, and with it came the excitement of a fresh start and new possibilities. So, even as an adult I carry the newness of August within me. Wanting to purchase a new calendar, notebook, and most of all I want to re-new my entire wardrobe, and sometimes even my identity. Or maybe it’s not so much about renewing oneself, but more so about coming home to oneself. It’s funny, but the older I get the more I become her; my childlike, creative self who always appreciates the beauty around her. The one who loves to create from the heart, not caring what others might think of her. She just is. So, whenever August arrives I let her come forth a little more; I let her shine and take up space – cause she deserves it. Still, with this being said, any day is a good day to allow your truest self …

A gentle pause before fall

August. In-between weeks when summer slowly transforming into fall. She is certainly still lingering in the air, hot and humid. However, to the attentive ear, subtle whispers of fall can already be heard. Still, I want to savor every last drop of summer. I want to fully appreciate her, without thinking about fall or what’s ahead. I just want to be present, here and now, with summer, while she’s still by my side. We humans have a habit to live in the future, rather than truly appreciate where we are right now. Always striving forward, checking off to-do-lists, wanting more. Never fully satisfied with what is in front of the eye, right now. Where are you rushing? And then, suddenly, fall arrives – and I will be reminded of how I neglected summer. By then it’s too late. Too late for that evening swim, the strawberry ice cream dripping down my skirt, the bright golden mornings. There is till time to savor her; to soak in her beauty and the quiet magic of late summer …

The Power of Living from Wholeness

There comes a moment in life when you will stop entertaining the unnecessary ; the things, people, or experiences that once felt necessary for you to feel worthy. Instead, you’ll learn to come home to yourself. There’s no begging to be chosen. You choose yourself. And from that place of completeness, life begins to meet you differently. You are not chasing. You are attracting. There’s no room for unnecessary drama. You are in alignment, simply being. When you’re rooted in your own self-worth— not the “only if I achieve this or look like that” kind—but the deep knowing that you’re already enough—your entire energy changes. You speak differently. Exist differently.Work, love, create, and relate from a place of wholeness. How does this play out?In your relationships, you no longer over-give just to be kept. You no longer perform just to feel validated or desired. You honor your boundaries to keep your soul safe. You let your value speak through your energy and presence. You trust your own rhythm and timeline. You let inspiration find you instead …

The now is where it all arrives

Start the day in silence; let the quiet nudges guide you. The moment you embrace stillness, the answers begin to flow to you with greater ease. We are so used to doing, chasing, taking action, proving ourselves, but what if there’s another way? One that is gentler to the heart. More aligned. At peace. The art of allowing. Being and breathing. Open and connected to everything that is meant for you. You are magnetic to all that you desire. At first you will feel a bit uneasy, frustrated, maybe even lazy. When we invite more being into our lives, it can feel like we’re not achieving much. Especially if you are used to always being on the go, accomplishing one task after the other. In the rush to prove yourself to others, you forget to ask the most important question: ‘Do I even like this?’ Cherish the in-between moments, the spaciousness that is created when you allow yourself to just be. No external stimuli; just you, yourself and your breath. If you only knew the …

Dear August…

… you make me feel alive. ”Darling, if you want to know love you must lose your fear of life.” The leaves shine bright in warm golden light. Utterly mesmerised by the whisper of the breeze; Be aware darling human, be aware, you’re shifting, like the softest, brittlest wind. Stay open, be alert, now, the perfect time for a rebirth. August is for faith. Love and compassion. Knowing one’s worth, and the ability to shine light in another person’s life. Taking care of the body, as well as the soul. Exploring new cities and friendships. It’s for constantly learning, constantly evolving. Small steps in the right direction. Appreciating every victory, every mistake. Blissful mornings. Dark, quiet evenings. Golden opportunities from dusk till dawn. The ability to inspire other human beings. Improving the quality of life. Challenging the body. Loving the body. Loving life. This August is all about being present in the here and now. It’s about finding humour in everyday life. Expecting, and enjoying the unexpected. Curiosity and creativity. Confidently chaotic. It’s about a life …

Allow me space to breathe

My brain is overstimulated. Over heated. Maybe it’s due to the ongoing heatwave, or simply cause of the constant stream of information that is flooding my external environment. It’s like my brain is screaming ”Enough!” I don’t want to see any more irrelevant updates from strangers, what they are eating, what their kids are eating, what they are thinking, where they are vacationing. My brain does not have space for it all. It barely has space for my own whereabouts. I want to hear my own thoughts. I want to feel my own breath. And don’t get me wrong. Inspiration arising from the external world can be golden; like the way the sun lights up the room early morning, the sound of leaves in the wind, your favourite song, a stranger’s laughter. We decide where to direct our attention – The things we find beautiful, the things that light us up. The things that gently speak to us. Still, how often do we neglect the inspiration that comes from within? The silent whispers from our …
