”Listen to the universe while it sings to you, don’t wait until it screams, cause it will.”
Setting intentions not only makes it easier to stay focused, but it helps to keep the motivation up, as well as staying more grounded and closer to one’s core self.
I’m a firm believer in writing my intentions down, preferably on a piece of paper. When it comes to intentions, you can choose to write daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly intentions. I prefer to write my intentions in the beginning of every month, as well as set one daily intention that helps guiding me throughout the day.
Below you’ll find some of the intentions I wrote in January, while planning for the year ahead. However, every once in a while, whenever I feel a bit ”lost”, tired and slightly unmotivated I read them through, in order to find my focus again. And actually, it has helped me a lot, to regain my motivation and find that inner spark. You see, everything you need, seek and long for is already resting within.
And now when I read them through I notice how well they fit into this difficult and challenging, yet rewarding year.
Dance with the universe
”Listen to the lyrics, the tone, the message. Quiet down the mental chatter, create space, and learn how to effortlessly move with the beat.”
Some days it’s more important to go within, and simply allow the things to come to you. Be more open to receive love, success, abundance and happiness by being more present, and by knowing, that all you’re seeking, already resting within.
At times the only thing we can do is to simply live life, and to go with the flow, surrendering to all that life has to offer. It can be difficult to grasp the meaning behind certain things happening for us, but eventually, I believe the meaning will make its appearance. We just have to trust the unfolding of our lives.
Speak your truth
”The winter within me eager to blossom into spring.”
To be able to be as honest as possible in our communication, towards others as well as towards ourselves. To be honest, real and authentic can hurt at times, but in the end, it’s kind of all that really matters. I want to be able to trust the people I surround myself with – and I always expect people to speak the truth, their truth… And of course, this is not always the case, but whatever the circumstance, I want people to know that I have trust in them.
There lies a tremendous amount of beauty within honesty. It’s not about being perfect, but being who we actually are – perfectly imperfect humans.
By letting my true self shine through, and allowing myself to be me, I give others space to show up as their most authentic self. I believe in my capabilities. I believe in me.
Whatever life throws at you, know that you have the power within to turn things around. Be authentic, be raw, be you. Never hide your feelings, your true essence. There lies an immense strength within vulnerability. I noticed by being more vulnerable I feel more powerful; in a sense it makes me come alive, and most important – it makes me free.
To give is to receive
”By giving others a helping hand, you’re helping yourself. And by healing yourself, you’re healing others.”
There will be times when you need to reach out for support, and there will be a time when you might have to help a complete stranger. This is what life is all about – to be able to provide support and guidance in times of need. And at the same time, be able to accept help when needed.
One way to begin is to start by giving more than what you expect in return. Give, without expecting anything in return. Just give, out of pure sincerity, out of pure love.
Slow living
”Slow living is the new living. Some things, not meant to be rushed.”
When the mind is turbulent it’s impossible to hear or see anything, nevertheless, when the mind is at peace, everything becomes clear blue sky. I believe, that, within the stillness you find space. A space called home.
One doesn’t have to meditate in order to find peace of mind, however, it might help. Needless to say, it’s not the minutes that count; it’s what you carry with you, after you’ve been sitting in silence – the patience, the alertness and a greater sense of awareness. Meditation is not sitting with no thought – it’s letting the thoughts pass by, no dwelling, but simply being aware. It’s a perfect way to practise slow breathing, going within, and trusting oneself.
When seeking stillness you allow your mind to go beyond thought. You might for example struggle with a challenging task, and seek more intelligent ideas on how to proceed – when you allow your brain to unwind, and ”turn off”, hence, getting rid of all the pressure, you allow your creativity to come alive, which in turn may lead to more creative solutions to your problem.
Seek to inspire, not to compete
”Embrace your passions, and inspire others to do the same.”
No storm can last forever. Not even nature can create a storm that last forever. Hidden within every struggle snoozes victory. Within every failure lies a new opportunity. Hidden within yourself, everything you’ll ever need. There is and there was nothing like you, and there shall be nothing like you. Seek to inspire, no to compete.
Be humble enough to know that you’re not better than anyone else, but wise enough to know you’re different.
Humility = Confidence
What is humility? It’s making no one feel inferior. It’s knowing that we all have our unique talents, and that we’re worthy of letting them shine through. It’s encouraging one another to be our best versions. We are a beautiful mix of humans, and we all bring a special flavor to life.
Do everything with great passion
Creating out of curiosity, without the pressure of having to perform any masterpieces. Creating, simply cause it’s what humans are meant to do. We create every day, whether we think of it or not. We make ourselves breakfast in the morning. We choose what clothes to wear. We write messages. We communicate. We think. We act. We make love. We live. Life is creation. Never stop creating the life of your dreams. Be consistent, and believe in yourself and your capabilities. You’re limitless.
