”When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
A couple of tips & tricks for those down days when you lack motivation and feel slightly lost. Cause let’s face it, we all go through them. But remember, everything is temporary.
Go outside; There’s nothing as uplifting then to breathe in the fresh air. Spending more time outside will calm your mind, and makes your thoughts clearer. Enjoying the early hours while taking a morning walk will set good intentions for the rest of your day.
Change your surroundings; If you don’t have the time or money to travel simple things like going to a different café or taking another path to work might just as well help you to see things from a different perspective.
Move your body; Being physically active is important for both the mind & the body. Feeling stuck and unmotivated? Chase those endorphins!
Create something; Write a short story, paint, bake a cake, attend a dance class, play an instrument. Do something your mind isn’t used to. Do not fare – let your creativity bloom.
Be sure that you get all your vitamins & minerals; When life is difficult, or when you feel upset, it might be easier to turn to the cookie jar then to grab that green smoothie. But getting all those essential vitamins and minerals are of utmost importance for your wellbeing. Fuel your body and soul with nutrient dense food that will make you feel awaken, energised and strong. Your blood sugar levels will be more stable and you might avoid unexpected mood swings.
Be grateful & practise kindness; Be grateful for what you have; all those tiny things you take for granted each and every day. Appreciate what you got and be kind to others. Doing something nice for another human being will direct the thoughts away from yourself for a while. Put a smile on someone else’s face and you’ll soon have a smile on your own.
