Small steps to maintain a balanced & healthy lifestyle

Choose a lifestyle that you are comfortable with. A lifestyle you can stick to all year around. A balanced & healthy lifestyle is not a quick fix, it’s your life.

Needless to say, you might have to make sacrifices, you might even have to give up on certain things. However, you will gain plenty by making the right choices and not saying no to new challenges. Yes, challenge yourself, say yes to new adventures. Step outside that comfort zone of yours. Or why not take a huge jump outside it. Try it. It won’t kill you.

”Your vibe attracts your tribe”. Be positive. Think positive. Spend time with positive people. The people you spend most of your time with have a huge impact on your wellbeing – choose them carefully.

Believe in your abilities. In your creativeness. As Elizabeth Gilbert puts it; ”The effort is worth it, because when at last you do connect, it is an otherworldly delight of the highest order. Because this is how it feels to lead the faithful creative life: You try and try and try, and nothing works. But you keep trying, and you keep seeking, and then sometimes, in the least expected place and time, it finally happens.” – page 195, Big Magic – Creative living beyond fear. 

Enjoy the beauty of nature. If you feel down or off track take a walk and breathe in the fresh air and let new thoughts in.

Practise mindfulness. Yoga is great for calming the nerves and for winding down after a rough day. You even sleep better. And we all know how important that beauty sleep is.

Become a morning person. Enjoy the stillness of the early hours. Make yourself a cup of tea and write down a few things you want to achieve during the day. Set positive intentions for the rest of the day by starting the day in a healthy manner. Try to squeeze in your workouts in the morning.

Keep it simple. Keep it clean. Fuel your body with vitamins, minerals and all the vital macro nutrients. Nonetheless, remember to indulge once in a while. Enjoy that cake. And eat your greens.

Always be yourself. Everyone else is already taken. You have unique talents, don’t let them grow old without appreciating and valuing them. Use them daily. Your talent might be writing. It might be your voice. Your ability to help other people. You might be running a successful company. Baking the best bread in town. Whatever your talent is – embrace it.
